Green Friendly

Wagon Trail Campground is dedicated to being a “Green Friendly” campground and is proud to be recognized by the Wisconsin Environmental Initiative with their “Travel Green Wisconsin” certification. Besides Recycling, the following are some of the steps we have taken to reduce our carbon footprint:

Energy efficient LED lighting, electric golf carts, energy star washing machines, native perennials (more drought resistant), paper reduction, highway clean up, lights on timers, water-saving faucets and shower-heads, and locally sourced firewood.

Please limit plastic bottle use. The water on your site is potable.

Wagon Trail Campground is a business member of the following local organizations:  Door County Land Trust, Newport State Park, and The Nature Conservancy and is certified “Travel Green Wisconsin”!

Please help us recycle!

  • All tin, plastics, aluminum, and glass should be recycled in recycling containers located next to the dumpsters. Please, empty contents out of any bags. To prevent critters, insects, and odors please rinse all containers before recycling. Note: Plastic bags are not recyclable and therefore should not be put in the recycling containers.
  • All paper and cardboard should either be burned or brought to the office to be recycled.

*If you no longer need your campground guide booklet that was given to you at check-in, please return it to the office.
